We cater some Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. OK, a lot of Bar and Bat Mitzvahs! So today, we’d like to share some of the cool things we see, especially in “themes.” Specifically…
Sports themed Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are hot. From everything to Invitations in team colors or even those that look tickets to a sporting event! Some folks even rent out a stadium club or professional (major or minor league) field.
Thanks to Mazel Moments for the image!
Continuing with the sports theme, we’ve seen sign-in boards that features a photo of the child in uniform with their favorite team or a team jersey or uniform as the sign-in instead of a guest book

The seating cards are often miniature sports cards or hats or helmets with the table information.
As for the food (our specialty!) don’t do all the traditional types of offerings but do some that are related to the sport. For example, peanuts and crackerjacks as part of the appetizer offering if baseball themed – make sure to use the appropriately themed containers. And ask us about a “hot dog” station with all the fixings!
Any theme your family chooses will end up being special to you. Keep everyone involved and remember to have fun once the party starts!
On May 10, we were once again proud and honored to be the official caterer, and a sponsor, of the Jane Rodney Gala from the Susan G Komen Foundation. And, with over 20 tables to feed, we were thrilled to feed the guests and sponsors of this worth-while charity.
This was the 11th annual event and is sponsored by the Susan G Komen affiliate of Central & South Jersey. This year a new venue was chosen: the historic Trenton War Memorial. The Spirit of Jane Rodney Celebration remembers their late founder, Jane Rodney while honoring community leaders who shared her dedication to the fight against breast cancer.
Jane worked at the Breast Cancer Resource Center and brought the Race for the Cure to New Jersey in 1994. She inspired others to take action and many of their volunteers and supporters worked with Jane for many years. While Jane lost her own battle with breast cancer in 2002, her work lives on.
Here’s what Monica Smith, Director of Development of the Susan G Komen of Central and South Jersey chapter had to say about the event:
Guests walk the “pink” carpet to enter. The event continues with an amazing silent auction, great music, and sit down dinner.
Exquisite Caterers was one of the sponsors, along with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Navigant, St. Peter’s Healthcare System.
Exquisite Caterers has been a sponsor for several years.
